Expanding Intuition Affirmations
Each time I write, I tune in more deeply to my inner guidance and creative instincts which helps me and helps others.
I trust the flow of my thoughts, knowing that my intuition reveals insights as I express myself on the page.
With every word I craft, I become more attuned to subtle inspiration and the wisdom within.
Writing is my sacred space to listen, trust, and allow my intuition to blossom freely.

Hello everyone!
In this edition, I'm going to share with you some tips I use in my writing that are both personal and powerful. I began writing on Substack several months ago. I dove right in, not really knowing what I was doing but I learned a ton as I went along: about myself, what writing means to me and how it lands with others. I am by no means a huge success, but I am satisfied with my continued forward progress and the learning and growing I am doing, and my newsletter is doing. Essentially "Unwind, Uplift and Thrive" seems to have a mind of its own. I respect my newsletter and all of my subscribers and readers very much. Thank you all and many blessings your way!
So, let's get into it. I have experienced and want to share with you how personal writing can strengthen your intuition and help you become more focused and intentional—not just in your writing, but in your life. Whether you keep a journal, jot down notes, or simply pause for a moment of reflection, writing can be a gateway to the kind of inner wisdom that guides you through both challenges and opportunities.
Personal Rituals: Inviting Guidance and Intention
Over the years, I’ve developed a ritual that’s become a steady source of comfort and clarity. Before I begin to write—whether it’s a newsletter or a note to myself—I pause, close my eyes, and ask my inner guidance (and those wise guides I admire, living or passed on) what wants to come forth. It’s like calling a council of trusted advisors to the table. Sometimes, I imagine inviting a favorite spiritual guide, Albert Einstein, Carl Jung, Maya Angelou or a beloved mentor to offer their perspective. Other times, it’s simply a quiet nudge from within.
It is often that I get nudges in the early hours of the morning and end up writing notes on my phone, almost like dictation. If I don't take action right then, I tend to forget the wise words shared, almost like a dream you know is there in the back of your head, but you can't retrieve it. So, I've learned to accept wise words when they come. These nudges have become more prominent since I have had the regular intention to be open to receiving guidance.
What’s remarkable is how often the words begin to flow almost effortlessly after this small act of intention. I find that by opening myself to guidance, I’m able to access ideas and clarity I might have otherwise missed. These personal streams of insight often become the notes that inform my newsletters and posts, and sometimes, they are exactly what someone else needed to read that day.
How to Create Your Own Writing Ritual
Imagine You are in a Golden Bubble of Protective Energy - When opening up to the energy of others, be wise in cloaking yourself first. Imagining yourself surrounded by golden and white light that filters out any negative energy is a great way to start and end every day.
Set a Clear Intention: Before you begin, take a moment to ask yourself, “What do I need to know or share today?” Some writers like to light a candle or burn incense to signify the sacredness of this practice. Make the practice your own!
Invite Your Council: Imagine a group of people you admire—living now or beyond —gathered to support you. What would they suggest? What wisdom might they offer?
Write Freely: Allow whatever comes up to flow onto the page, without judgment or editing. Trust that your intuition knows what wants to be expressed.
Review and Reflect: After you write, read over your words. Notice any patterns, insights, or surprising ideas that emerge. Routinely practicing a writing ritual will help you discover new insights and inspiration. There is something very joyful about these connections and the development that occurs over time.
Why Personal Writing Strengthens Intuition
Writing is more than just recording thoughts—it’s a way to tune into your inner voice. When you write with intention and openness, you create a space for your intuition to speak up. Over time, these small acts of self-connection help you become more focused, more intentional, more receptive to --- and more trusting of --- the guidance that’s always available—both from within and from the wise ones you invite to your table.
I've found that my nudges now come very frequently, not just when I am going to write but also when I am wanting some specific direction in my life or even finding lost keys or knowing when it's best to give a call to a friend. In other words, along with my writing ritual and intention, I have learned to have more trust in my intuition, and it is better informing all areas of my life. I wish the same for you!
A Step Farther with Muscle Testing
As you gain more trust in your intuition, another step you can take is to ask yes and no questions from your inner guidance by using muscle testing, also known as applied kinesiology. You may be familiar with this but if not, let me introduce you. One straightforward muscle testing method you can try is the thumb and forefinger ring method. To do this, touch the tip of your thumb and forefinger together on one hand, forming a closed ring. With the thumb and forefinger of your other hand, gently try to pull the ring apart while stating a question or holding a statement in mind. For most people, a true or affirmative response will keep the ring strong and intact, while a false or negative answer will cause the ring to weaken and break apart. A quick search on YouTube will bring up training videos that may be easier to grasp.
Like writing, muscle testing gives you a way to access the subtle, intuitive guidance within you. Explore this practice with curiosity, noticing what your body wants to share.
A Simple Writing Visualization
As always, a visualization can help sharpen your imagination and tune your nervous system to accept imagery as real possibility. Seat yourself in a quiet, comfortable place allowing space and time for yourself. Have a pad and pen nearby for notetaking. Close your eyes and take three slow, deep breaths, letting your body relax and your breathing become soft and rhythmic.
Imagine sitting at a table surrounded by your council of advisors—people you admire, mentors, spiritual guides. Who is present at your invitation?
Ask, “What wisdom do you have for me today?” Notice any words, images, or feelings that arise. Be open to receive, "listening" with your whole body.
Open your eyes and begin to write, letting the words flow without judgment. Trust that what comes through is meaningful for you right now. Ask additional questions if they arise for you or if you need more clarity or depth.
When you finish, thank your council and take a moment to reflect on what you received.
If you are ready to make meaningful change in your life with strong, empowering support at your side, let’s talk.
Thank you—until next time….
